About Minesweeper

Minesweeper is a deduction grid. Numbers tell you how many mines touch that cell, including diagonals. GameZumoza’s version generates a fresh minefield after your first click so the opening cell is safe. On phones, a Flag mode toggle replaces right-click. The round is won when every non-mine cell is open, and lost if you open a mine.

How to Play Minesweeper

  1. Choose Beginner (9×9, 10 mines) or Intermediate (16×16, 40 mines).
  2. Open a cell. The first opening is always safe.
  3. A number shows how many mines surround that cell.
  4. Flag cells you are sure contain mines.
  5. Open the remaining safe cells to win.

Controls

Desktop

Left click to open, right click to flag

Mobile

Tap to open, long-press or Flag mode to plant a flag

Objective

Open every cell that is not a mine. Flagging all mines is helpful but the win condition is clearing the safe cells.

Tips for Playing Minesweeper

  • A 1 next to a single closed neighbor is a mine. Flag it.
  • If a number already has enough flags, its remaining neighbors are safe.
  • Work from dense numbered regions toward empty space.
  • Do not chord-guess late in an intermediate board; one mine ends the run.

Features

  • Safe first click
  • Beginner and intermediate sizes
  • Touch flag mode
  • Mine counter
  • Restart without reload

Why is the first click never a mine?

The minefield is generated after that click so you always get a fair opening.

Is this a copy of a desktop Minesweeper?

It follows the well-known public rules. The code, layout, and visuals are original to GameZumoza.
